Blog Crossover
Here's a chance to cross-promote MinilandBricks and MicroBricks, in case there are readers of one who are not aware of the other. A while ago, Ochre Jelly made a miniland scale Stephen Hawking. Doctor which? Doctor what? Oh .... Doctor Who
Here's another easter egg from Legoland Windsor - Doctor Who in Miniland. Thanks to Gizmocon for the image and LEGO Model of the Day for the heads-up. According to LMotD, this was the character from the previous week's episode of the show, so they are updating this display on a very regular basis.

Here comes the bride, three studs wide
I've seen several people create LEGO bride-and-groom pairs, sometimes as cake toppers for their wedding receptions (don't think my wife would have gone for that one). Three great examples come from Sean Kenney, Steve Bishop and Annie Preston.

William Webb Dodd
William Webb Dodd is another former Master Model Builder from Legoland California, now working as an architect. He's got a great gallery of Miniland's New York City that really shows the amazing details the park's designers can put in at this scale.

Bill Vollbrecht
Bill Vollbrecht is a former Legoland California Master Model Builder who now works freelance. He's got a great gallery of his work in the park including this breakdancing scene. Incidentally, the spherical design of that huge afro came from an AFOL, Brucey-Wan (not me, another Bruce).

British Batman
I've only been to Legoland California twice, but my understanding is that if you go back multiple times you will find little changes in Miniland, often to celebrate an event or decorate for a holiday. It looks like last year there were a number of Batman characters spread through the Miniland display at Legoland Windsor. I'm guessing these were added to celebrate the introduction of the Batman line, as all of the major characters from the initial line of sets were included.

Bin there, done that
One of the great things about Miniland scale is the ability to build in a lot more detail than is possible at smaller scales. If you go to one of the Legoland parks you'll see the incredible details, including everyday objects. Along this line, Steven1980 has a simple but very effective recyling bin.

Podcast
If you don't listen to the LAMLradio podcast, you should start. Podcast 36 focuses on Nathan Proudlove's Miniland scale Mystery Machine.
Nathan says that "Miniland scale is a little more freeing as far as your figs, because you can suggest things a little more easily." This MOC was inspired by his wife noticing that the colors of the pieces he was sorting matched the famous Scooby Doo van. Nathan has built several vehicles at this scale before, starting with a 1965 Lincoln Continental. He says "I like the scale of the vehicles, because you can put a lot more detail into them."

Snowfall
