Dollhouse, take 3

Next up on Heather LEGO Girl's dollhouse, the bedroom. Favorite details here are the large barrel half as a lampshade and the wagon wheel as the seat of the stool. My only quibble is that there's no back to the crib.

Hey little sister what have you done?

Shawn Snyder showed off big daddy and little sister from the game Bioshock at BrickCon. Thanks to Joe Meno for the photo.

Dollhouse, take 2

Heather LEGO Girl's dollhouse is full of so many features that I want to give individual attention to each room. This MOC really shows the type of detail you can get at this scale. First up, the kitchen. One thing this highlights is the reason so many elements always look a little cartoony and outsized in minifigs' hands is that they really belong at this scale (for Scala or Belville). They work perfect here. Some of my favorite build details are the handle on the fridge, the blender, the knobs on the stove, and the detailed legs of that central table.

Dollhouse

This is a month or so old, but Heather LEGO Girl posted an amazing Dollhouse. This won Reserve Grand Champion in the dollhouse category of the Puyallup Fair. Today I'll give the overview, but we'll look into the details of the rooms over the next couple of days. Oh, Heather was also interviewed about this creation on LAML radio, so give that a listen as well. This MOC was on display at BrickCon this past weekend.

More cars

Here are a bunch of miniland scale cars on display at BrickCon last weekend. Most of these seem to be by Lino Martins. Thanks to Joe Meno for the photo.

The wheels on the car go round and round

This past weekend, while fans in the US were gathering in Seattle, some of our British colleagues were participating in the Great Western Lego show. Ralph Savelsberg (Mad Physicist), Mark Palmer and Ed Diment built several great cars. Some of these have been featured here before and I'll try to get more pictures of the others up soon.

Hair and there

MisaQa also created a number of traditional Japanese hairstyles. As far as I can tell, she hasn't put these to use. I hope she creates a number of miniland scale figures in traditional Japanese dress (hmm, maybe this year's Advent calendar?).

Hair, flow it, show it, long as God can grow, my hair

Hmm, not sure if this is a new gallery, but MisaQa has developed a large number of great hairstyles, probably mostly for her .

Statuary

A little while ago a group of great Japanese builders put together a Brick Town Fan group display at the standard fig scale. MisaQa contributed a great Greek-themed Juno Garden, filled with statues built at miniland scale.

Lino Martins has sympathy for the underdog

The LUGNuts group on Flickr have wrapped up their tenth building challenge: "Sympathy for the Underdog." LUGNuts members built vehicles that have been "under-appreciated," dwelling in the shadow of more popular cars. Lino Martins presents a great '57 Pontiac Safari, "commissioned" by his girlfriend Sue (also depicted in Miniland scale).
