Cows hate cold hands
MinilandBricks is happy to welcome the newest LEGO community site, Classic-Cattle, devoted to all things LEGO and bovine. Christoph Schweiger took a picture of this milkmaid at an official LEGO store.

Brandenburger Tor
We don't often see a successful mixing of minifig and miniland scales. I was looking through some old galleries from 1000SteineLand 2006, a gathering of AFOLs in Berlin, and noticed this great Brandenburg Gate. Why feature it here? Look more closely at the statue of Victoria in her chariot. Unfortunately, I do not remember the builder. If someone knows, could they leave a comment?

Wheels, Wings and Waves
I've previously noted the Wheels, Wings and Waves show. Now it is at the The Discovery Centre in Halifax, NS. Sparechange63 has a great gallery of photos.

Store models
It's frustrating getting pictures of the miniland scale models on display at official LEGO stores, since these are behind these little round windows and it's hard to get close-ups with good lighting. Notenoughbricks apparently works at a LEGO store, and assembled several of these models, which are based on a design provided by LEGO. Does anyone know who designed the originals?

Crawford Residence
I don't usually post works-in-progress here, but making a whole building at Miniland scale is such a massive undertaking that this will merit coming back to a couple of times before it's complete: Stapelaar's Crawford Residence.

Olympic spirit
Okay, I've been bad about blogging lately. While I was slacking off, the Winter Olympics came and went. Hippotam and Shurik* celebrated with Justyna Kowalczyk and a speed skater, respectively.

Skylark
Lino Martins brings us another great car at miniland scale with his 1953 Buick Skylark. I love that curved pinstripe down the side, but also be sure to check under the hood.

The King has been bedazzled! Well okay, not really. :)
I originally designed a LEGO Elvis as part of Miniland Las Vegas several years ago. In that one I used decorated tiles but when I decided to rebuild him I thought that adding rhinestone stickers would be much more accurate.

You can read more about this on my Model Building Secrets blog.

Happy Birthday, LB
Ian's (Ochre Jelly's) blog The Living Brick celebrated its first year a few days ago. Stephen Hawking was partying like it was 1999.

Gone Fishing
Here’s my latest creation. Father and son have gone down to the old fishing hole for some bonding time. Looks like junior is having a lot more luck than his dad.

I had been thinking of doing a fishing MOC for a while. This model evolved as I built it going from a single fisherman to a touching scene between a father and son. You can read more about this model on my Model Building Secrets blog.

Ring-ting-tingling, too
Come on, it's lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you. I've been enjoying briXwerX's gallery. Most of the MOCs are large scale sculptures, but a few of them are at miniland scale, like this one created for this last Christmas.

A tight spot for Agent Janus
Lino Martins has continued the saga of Agent Janus. You'll have to read the whole story to find out what's going on in this scene.

Legoland Florida
I've blogged the rumor before, but it is now official. The next Legoland park in the US will be in Florida, at the site of the now-closed Cypress Gardens theme park (30 miles from Disneyworld). Along with projects currently underway in Dubai and Malaysia, we're seeing a nice growth in these parks.
