Mariann Asanuma is a former Model Builder from Legoland California. Last year she left to become a freelance model builder (hmm, oddly her Legoland page is still there). She's written a book called How to Build a Round Ball with Square Bricks! and you can contact her to commission a model. Here's her Brickshelf gallery for more of her work, including this snowman.

Where's the fire?
James Lee has a fire brigade at miniland scale. The engine is a 1970s Dennis F109 from London Fire Brigade.

Come tumbling down
You don't see miniland scale mixed with fig scale very often. Here Nick Dean uses miniland building for a statue that's being pulled down in the context of announcing a RAMM building contest (follow the link for more on that). Thanks to the Brothers-Brick for the heads-up.

C'mon in, the water's fine
I just noticed there are pools on Flickr for Legoland California, Lego Land California, Legoland Parks and Legoland Germany. There's also a section of Brickshelf for LEGOLAND® Parks.

Details from Denmark
There are so many great galleries out there of images from the various Legoland parks. Liz Castro has this gallery from Billund.
There's so much going on in this market. Be sure to check the large version of the image so you can see the details.
I really love the detail in the stonework here, which really illustrates what you can achieve at this scale. Be sure to check out the large image so you can see how it's done.

A bit of business
A couple of years ago LEGO sold controlling interest in the Legoland parks to the Blackstone Group, whose division Merlin Entertainments operates several amusement parks and other attractions, mostly in Europe. They've also got a significant partnership with Dubai International Capital, which is probably related to the planned next Legoland park in Dubai. Anyway, surfing around I found a forum on Merlin theme parks, which includes threads on the Legoland parks.

Dubai!
Finally, a couple of months ago LEGO announced that the next Legoland theme park will open in Dubai in 2011. Here's some more information. Here's Legoland California's Eric Hunter with the Burj Dubai (photo from the LA Times article, credited to Legoland).

Young man, there's no need to feel down
It's fun to stay at the YMCA. Dr. Sinister has a gallery of images from Legoland Windsor, including what seems to be an Elvis convention.

Row, row, row your bricks
Summer is the perfect time to visit one of the Legoland parks. Theroguerook has a great gallery of images from Legoland California, including this rowing crew.
